Over the last decade the modern eating culture has changed from traditional mealtimes to snacking; that is eating anything, anywhere and at any time. Today’s hectic lifestyle and the lack of time available for preparing food has shifted mealtimes to accommodate for long working hours and made snacks more important and often more satisfying than actual meals. Snacks are convenient, ready-to-eat meals that are typically consumed between traditional mealtimes and often come in single-serve formats. They help top-up dietary needs throughout the day. In the UK, Snacking is extremely popular and in recent times there has been a focus on health-conscious snacks.
