It's 2030 and farming, fishing, food and drink is the destination of first choice for workers. They recognise the industry as Scotland's most successful and the one most committed to developing its people.
The food and drink industry employs around 111,000 people in Scotland. And we need a queue of enthusiastic new entrants to fill the new job opportunities emerging.
As well as attracting new people to the sector, we must keep them here, supercharged and at the top of their game. We will do this by rewarding them, investing in them, being responsible employers and making this a career destination of choice.
The Scotland Food & Drink People & Skills Board meet regularly and work towards delivering the Skills Investment Plan for the sector.
The first Skills Investment Plan was launched in 2012. This refreshed plan – a product of the Scotland Food & Drink Partnership alongside wide research and consultation with a range of employers and industry stakeholders from across the sector – is the foundation to achieve our ambitions.
