Meet the Buyer: Brakes Scotland

Conferences & seminars

Brakes Scotland has operated across the country for the past 60 years from 4 sites; Inverness, Oban, Dundee and Newhouse. Brakes Scotland employ over 600 people and work with over 100 Scottish suppliers, serving 9,000 customers across the nation.

Interest in local sourcing is encouraging Brakes to ensure they have the right range for their customers in Scotland. This has led to them listing over 550 Scottish products which are featured in their latest brochure available to customers across Scotland.

With the current chef shortages the industry is facing in mind, Brakes Scotland are developing solutions for their customers that enable a high quality menu offer no matter the hour of the day or personnel in the kitchen. Benefits of the range include:

  • Consistency in taste and portion size
  • Enhanced flavour
  • Time saving
  • Cost saving
  • Flexibility to garnish and serve to suit the menu

In partnership with Scotland Food & Drink, Brakes Scotland are now offering Scottish food manufacturers the opportunity to present their ranges for two categories – meal solutions and soup.

Examples of the current range within Brakes in these categories below:

Interested businesses that meet the requirements must complete a registration form and successful applicants will be invited to a ‘meet the buyer’ at the Brakes Scotland development kitchens at the Newhouse depot on Monday 29th April.

If appropriate, any successful potential suppliers will be invited to showcase their products at the Brakes Scotland Showcase on Wednesday 15th May at the Glasgow Arches.
